My journey in construction started early. Growing up, I learned the value of hard work directly from my parents: my dad was a dedicated builder, and my mom owned and operated a local hardware store. Helping them throughout my childhood gave me a hands-on foundation in the trade and a deep respect for solid craftsmanship.
As homeowners and business owners ourselves, we know firsthand what it takes to invest in property, and unfortunately, we also know the deep frustration of poor craftsmanship, hidden fees, and unethical contractors.
Driven by Purpose: Why I Became a Licensed Contractor
Too often, people fall victim to bad actors in the construction industry. I've stepped in to help clients who faced devastating situations caused by unlicensed or predatory contractors:
Commercial Rescue in the San Fernando Valley: We recently took over a commercial laundromat project where an unlicensed contractor charged massive sums for uncompleted work, leaving behind a facility covered in city red tags and pushing the client to the brink of bankruptcy. Commercial projects require rigorous code compliance. We stepped in with empathy and determination, reversed the sub-par work, navigated the strict municipal requirements, and got the project fully up to code on a strict budget. Today, that client is ready to open her doors and serve her community.
Protecting Homeowners from Scams: In another instance, a homeowner was threatened with a property lien by a contractor who wasn't even licensed. When she hired a second contractor, he pulled unnecessary permits just to squeeze more money out of her, leaving her with unfinished work and open permits at the Department of Building and Safety.
Seeing the pain, tears, and financial strain caused by these situations was my biggest motivation to earn my General Contractor License and my Real Estate Broker License, backed by my Business Degree from California State University, Fullerton. My goal is simple: to protect clients, restore trust, and deliver honest, high-quality work.
